Tree & Vine Pruning

Case-Barlow Farm's Annual Tree & Vine Pruning

Sunday, March 15  from 11:00am to 2:00pm

Botanist Charlie Robinson and arborist Curt Van Blarcum will lead this free event.

They will discuss proper pruning cuts, how to properly prune for the desired outcome and optimal plant health, young tree training and structural and shrubbery pruning. They will also discuss tree and shrub planting methods and best management techniques.

 

Attendees should bring gloves, protective eyeglasses, hand pruners, small folding or straight pruning saw preferably with Tri-cut teeth and a small two- or three-step folding ladder.

In addition, they should wear clothing and boots for the weather and can bring beverages and snacks. 

Attendees should meet outside the barn.

Consent is given to participate in the activity/program listed. In consideration of the agreement of the Case-Barlow Farm Board to provide the activity/program to my child and/or to myself, I release the Board, its officers, trustees, agents, and volunteers, acting on behalf of the Board, from any and all liability claims or demands for personal injury, sickness, or death, as well as property damage expenses of any nature whatsoever which may be incurred by the undersigned and/or the child participant that occurs while my child or I are participating in the activity.


I assume on behalf of myself and my child all risk of personal injury, sickness, death, damage and expenses as a result of my or my child's participation in the activity/program. I further agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Board, its officers, trustees, agents, and volunteers, acting on behalf of the Board, for any liability sustained by the Board as a result of any negligent, willful, or intentional acts of the child or by myself. I consent to the use of my or my child's photograph on the Case-Barlow Farm website or in publicity of the Case-Barlow Farm.
